Enjoy Fall Foliage
As September rolls in, so do the golden aspen trees, which light up our landscape. The glimpses of orange and red hues punctuate the beauty. For some who live here, this is their favorite month of the year. They enjoy hiking, biking, and getting together outside with friends.
Here are some of the best places to go to enjoy the fall foliage:
- Ptarmigan Trail in Silverthorne
- Aspen Alley and Boreas Pass Rd in Breckenridge
- Old Dillon Dam Reservoir off Lake Dillon Road
- Rainbow Lake in Frisco
- Day trip Drives across Scenic Byways

Outdoor Patio Seating
Where do you enjoy dining for patio seating? Some of my favorite restaurants this time of year include delicious food, great service, and an outdoor dining experience by the river.
Cool River Coffee – I visited here recently for the first time in a while and was impressed with their full healthy breakfast and lunch menu, as well as an abundance of gluten-free options.
Castaways Cove – For a casual dining experience, stop by for lunch for their incredible poke bowls (rice, salad, or quinoa options), coconut crusted salmon appetizer, and house daiquiris on tap! Ask about their local’s specials M-Th, between 12-3 PM.
Whiskey Star – Texas BBQ in Colorado! Their upper deck outdoor patio will offer some of the best views of the mountain, and close to the River Center! True to their namesake, they offer the best whiskey menu in town!
